Corporate venturing is not limited to invest in a start-up but are all of the entrepreneurial activities aimed at setting up new businesses within or in close co-operation with a large corporate organisation. This session is about the different corporate venturing instruments you can use. There is no one size fits all approach and we will outline the different flavours of Corporate Venturing. Besides the external investments and own internal ventures, we will discuss also the new venturing instruments that have emerged and which instruments to use for which purpose. Often companies start with one instrument but a sustainable corporate venturing strategy requires a portfolio of internal and external venturing instruments. If you only have one of the two, you can compare it with one-hand clapping, which doesn't make a lot of noise. We will discuss several development patterns of Corporate Venturing over time.
