Introducing Startups in a corporate environment becomes ‘trendy’. The main challenge starts by integrating the ‘Little baby’ in this ‘Big family’. The easiest part is for top management by ‘simply’ taking the decision to introduce a startup and for example taking a share. By doing so the corporate shows INNOVATION.
The challenges start when the Startup is incorporated within the organisation. Trying to align departments, divisions and ‘experienced’ people can be problematic. The problem often is how to speak the same ‘language’ throughout the Startup and organization.
This session is about sharing experience in startup integration, the challenges in collaboration and solutions for a successful integration. How can a Startup take advantage of established procurement, as well as; how can experienced procurement managers take advantage and learn from Startups.

Otto is Vice President and Head of Buying International Expansion at Metro Group (AG). He has more than 30 years retail, wholesale experience and worked and lived in the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic and China.
Otto started in Wholesale Electronics, followed by working in Retail at the British Shoe Corporation. The last 26 years he works in Wholesale, Hyper-Market, Retail at Metro Group. For this Group he worked in many different fields and management levels.
He set up Office Centre / Staples the Netherlands and was Division Manager Buying at Metro the Netherlands. Otto developed the METRO Corporate University, trained and coached country boards and operational management in more than 30 countries in Europe, North Africa and Asia and set up training campuses in Germany, France, Russia and China. He was in the Management Board of Metro Czech Republic, Slovakia and Makro UK as Procurement and Merchandising Director.
He graduated as Master of Science in 1997 at the Rotterdam Erasmus University.
