Erik Stam is full professor and head of the Strategy, Organization and Entrepreneurship chair at the Utrecht University School of Economics. He is also academic director of the Utrecht Center for Entrepreneurship.
Together with his colleagues at Utrecht University and globally he provides new insights into how entrepreneurship is affected by its (organizational, economic and societal) context, and how entrepreneurship subsequently affects these contexts.
His research on entrepreneurship and development has been published in leading economics, geography and management journals, and he is consistently ranked among the top 10% authors in the field of Entrepreneurship. He is editor of Small Business Economics. Next to his scientific work he is frequently consulted by regional, national and supra-national policy makers and private sector organizations.
Erik Stam has a Ph.D. from Utrecht University and has held teaching and research positions at Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Cambridge, Max Planc
